Google Business View is a 360° virtual tour of the inside of your business. It’s Google Street View technology for business interiors.
With a Business View, your customers can take a stroll through your business and explore for themselves. Panoramic photos are taken throughout the location in a very particular and precise fashion to give the viewer the ultimate 3D walkthrough.
For several reasons. First, the equipment required to complete a Business View is very specific to taking stitched, panoramic photos. It is not ordinary or typical equipment that even most professional photographers have available.
Second, to ensure a consistent experience for viewers from one View to the next, there are very specific procedures and specifications in terms of how the photographs are taken. Each Trusted Photographer goes through extensive training to learn these requirements.
Third, Business Views are created using proprietary technology for which Google allows Trusted Photographers to access.
Lastly, as technology and Google’s requirements change, the program changes. Trusted Photographers are in frequent contact with Google to stay on top of changes.
Also, there’s one big advantage to using a Google Trusted Photographer. While you as the business owner are free to upload any photos to your Google My Business page, any photos uploaded to that page by us will be labeled as having been added by Google which adds to the trust factor.
Google Trusted Photographers are the only people allowed to complete an official Business View and upload it on to the Google Platform.
Each photographer accepted to the program has completed extensive training in the technologies used for the ultimate viewing experience. And they have direct access to Google employees for assistance and support.
You’ll be able to embed your View on your website, and even on your Facebook page.
In fact, you can place a Business View anywhere that allows you to embed via an iframe.
Don’t have a clue what that means? Not a problem. We’d be happy to help.
Unlike others who provide this service, we’re not only capable of providing excellent photography services, but we’re a full service marketing agency.
We’d be happy to give you fantastic ideas on how to leverage Business View to its maximum potential.
Quite simply, Business View increases interest and engagement among your current and future customers. More interest and more engagement means the potential for more revenue.
It’s not easy to establish trust these days. Business View helps build trust with potential customers by showing them the real world you operate in. Even businesses that lack a fancy location benefit in this way.
Imagine if you were considering going to a new restaurant or bar, getting your hair done, or any number of purchase decisions. How would you feel if before even stepping into that establishment you knew exactly what to expect?
Every Crush My ViewSM package includes everything you need for a custom Business View. This includes:
- A professional photography session at your business location by Google Trusted Photographer Randy Dickey typically for one to two hours.
- A full 360° virtual tour of your business taken with equipment that exceeds Google’s standards and gives your potential customers a real sense of who you are.
- Set of digital photographs (called Point of Interest photos) of your business and related products that will be uploaded along with your View to your Google My Business page and that can be used on your own website.
- Assistance in setting up your Google My Business page (formerly Google Places).
- Integration of the virtual tour with Google Street View (where applicable) to create a seamless transition from the street to the inside.
We believe that any business which qualifies for a local Google My Business page will benefit from a virtual tour.
Generally speaking, if you see customers face to face – whether at your location or their’s – you qualify for a local Google page.
Even if you don’t see customers at your location, having a Business View can help establish trust.
And if customers do come to you, a Business View can get them excited, make them comfortable, and otherwise increase their engagement with your business.
Google Business View is perfect for:
- Coffee Shops
- Gift Shops
- Bed and Breakfasts
- Automobile Dealerships
- Retail Shops
- Gyms and Fitness Clubs
- Yoga Studios
- Hair and Nail Salons
- Bowling Allies
- Sports Facilities
- Entertainment Venues
- Wedding Venues
- Daycare Centers
- Retirement Homes
- Professional Offices
- And more!
Your Google Trusted Photographer will upload your Business View and ensure they show up in three places:
- Google My Business (formerly Google Places)
- Google Maps (which is very important in mobile marketing)
- Google Search
And there are plenty of other places you can embed your View.
Street View uses very sophisticated software to stitch together photographs into a 360° virtual tour and the technology is still rapidly evolving. Traditionally, the software did not allow us to do any post-processing edits of the panoramic photos (the digital still photos may be touched up for a nominal fee). However, due to some new technology in development, we hope to have the ability to give you a preview of the virtual tour on the day of the shoot. For the moment, we are unable to have you review the virtual tour photographs prior to them being uploaded and published by Google, but that may be changing in the very near future.
With that said, there’s a reason why Street Views must be taken by a Google Trusted Photographer. Several quality control points are already in place to make sure the outcome is exceptional and that each tour meets Google’s high-standards for quality control. In the unlikely event that a tour does not meet Google’s quality control standards, we will re-shoot the tour at no cost to you.
Yes and no.
Google has specific requirements for both the minimum number of “spins” (photo locations) as well as a few of the digital photographs to be taken. There are also specifications in terms of the distance between spins and a couple other technical requirements.
With that said, you’ll still have options and flexibility. And we’d be happy to discuss your specific desires prior to the booking session.
In most cases, we believe that it’s best not to have people shown in the Business View panoramic photos. Having people in the photos can be a distraction and cause a ghosting effect if not properly planned.
Furthermore, for privacy reasons we are required to blur faces in the virtual tour photos. And due to the additional processing time involved, we’ll have to charge you a nominal fee for each person whose face is visible.
One additional service we offer is how to use a Business View to create a viral video and explode your marketing efforts. In these cases, depending upon the creative direction decided upon, we might mutually agree that strategically placed people will provide the best outcome. Ask us for more details about this service if you are interested in hearing.
Yes. We understand the busy needs of business owners and the demands you face each and every day.
We will make this a simple and pain-free process for you. And part of that means scheduling when it’s most convenient for you.
Depending upon the type of business you have, we might make suggestions as to the optimal but in the end will defer to your judgement and desires.
We are committed to having your street view tour live within a week after your photo shoot.
However a number of factors can determine how soon your tour can go live.
We carefully review each photograph to ensure it meets quality standards and that any privacy concerns are addresses. In addition, for the still photos, many businesses choose for us to do some post-processing work to enhance these images so that they look their very best. If you have a specific event or deadline in mind for a product launch, please let us know during the initial consultation and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Typical Business View photo shoots take between one and two hours. It would be quite rare for a shoot to be completed in less time. And for extremely large locations, it’s possible that the shoot take an entire day.
We’d be happy to give you an estimate of the length of time once we learn more about your business location.
That depends upon the package you’ve selected. Please review our pricing page for details.
Our goal is to make this a very easy experience for you.
The most important part of the process for you is the pre-shoot consultation session. During this meeting, which can be conducted in-person or over the phone, you’ll let us know your goals and objectives, any special requests, and discuss how you’ll be using your Business View for maximum exposure.
After that, and we have the date of the shoot scheduled, just sit back and relax while we take care of all the details.
This depends upon the particulars of your business.
Google does not allow us to include faces of people in the Business View panoramic shots. If you absolutely have to include people in your shoot, we must blur any visible faces (and reserve the right to charge a nominal extra fee due to extra time involved in the process). Additionally, any people in the photos must remain in place during the entire shoot.
Therefore, we typically recommend that the photo shoot take place outside of normal business hours or at least during a less busy time period.
Also, there might be times better than others depending upon lighting factors.
We can discuss all of this during your pre-shoot consultation.
In most cases, Google requires us to take four specific panoramic photos starting from outside the front door to your business to just inside.
After those four have been taking, we have flexibility although there is a maximum distance allowed between photo locations.
If there are private areas of your location that you’d prefer to not include, that’s perfectly acceptable as long as we satisfy the technical requirements.
We’ll work around your business’ needs or even perform the shoot outside of normal business hours.
Your business comes first and we’re very sensitive to that. And most importantly, our entire objective is about enhancing your business and helping you get more customers. So the last thing we will do is cause any interruption.
Yes, that is the biggest requirement in order to qualify for a Business View.
If you don’t have a Page, we’re happy to create one on your behalf as part of our basic package. This, of course, gives benefits even beyond the Business View as you would then be eligible to appear in specific local Google search results.
There is a lot of work involved both behind the camera and behind the scenes. And we believe our pricing is amazingly low given the potential value that new customers brings to your business.
There are two situations where we are happy to provide a discount
- Multiple Location Businesses
- Referral To Other Business
If you have more than one location, contact us and we’d be happy to provide a quote for a multi-location shoot. Please note that according to Google rules, each location must have its own Google My Business page and separate Business View.
Even if you do not have more than one location, if you refer us to another business we’ll extend to you a 10% discount on your Business View. And if the other location is near yours, and we are able to shoot them both on the same day, we’ll also extend a 10% discount to that business as well.
Yes. Please contact us for details. The discount depends upon the number of locations, proximity to each other, and additional factors.
If you understand the massive benefits of having a Business View, and are ready to get started, just go to our page called . . .
We require a nominal fully refundable deposit and just a little bit of information. It won’t take you more than a few minutes.
Once we receive your request, we’ll be in touch to answer any questions you might have and schedule your photo shoot.
It depends upon our availability but in nearly all cases we are able to complete your Business View within 10 days. Should you need a rush, please let us know and we’ll try to accommodate your needs.
Pricing for a Google Business View depends upon the number of “spins” (photo locations). The number of spins varies based upon several factors like the size and layout of the location, and your specific objectives.
For more information, see our page on Google Business View Pricing.
We accept business checks, PayPal, and all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club.
Trusted Photographer Program
Currently, Crush My ViewSM provides Business View services in the San Francisco Bay Area, and primarily in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. But we are open to working with businesses throughout Northern California although some limitations apply due to Google restrictions.
If you’re a photographer interested in working with us in the Business View program, please go ahead and let us know.
Becoming a Google Certified Photographer is an extensive process.
As a legacy Google Trusted Photographer, I completed an application and was carefully screened for my years of photography experience. Second the quality of my work was evaluated and is continually monitored.
Under the original certification program, I received special training and guidance from Google on how to shoot, upload, and moderate Street View Inside Tours. Many newer photographers to this program have not received the same level of training.
Due to the unique nature of panoramic photos, special photography equipment is required. This equipment is above and beyond what most professional photographers use and is unique to panoramic photography.
Google carefully evaluates all work done by Trusted Photographers to ensure it meets their strict quality control standards.
After completing all the required steps and demonstrating their ongoing commitment to quality, a photographer can then be certified as a “Google Trusted Photographer.”
Trusted Photographers are independent contractors that are not employed by, agents of, or otherwise affiliated with Google.
Google has certified photographers like our own Randy Dickey after meeting very strict qualification, training, and practical examinations.
Trusted Photographers are required to maintain Google’s high standard of quality and follow the very specific guidelines set forth in the program regarding photography and post-shoot procedures.
Privacy and Legal
The privacy of you, your business, and your customers is of the utmost importance to us. During our pre-shoot consultation, we will discuss any areas of your business that you prefer to keep private and not open for public view. We will only shoot in areas you want to be visible to the public. In addition, we recommend that you simply hide any sensitive documents or other items from view. You can store the items temporarily in boxes or inside cabinet while the shoot is being conducted.
If you have any additional questions, just let us know.
Both Google and Crush My Market understand the importance of and respect the privacy of your employees and customers.
Faces are never displayed in the Street View virtual tours. Prior to beginning the photo shoot, we will make sure that everybody in your location is aware of what we are doing and give them an opportunity to prepare as they (or you) see fit. If you want to have people inside your business for marketing purposes a nominal fee is charged for additional blurring of faces.
This is also a reason why we recommend that the shoot be conducted outside of normal business hours, or at least during a less busy time.
Yes, Google requires all businesses to sign their standard agreement prior to the Business View taking place.
We’d be happy to send you a copy of the agreement. It may be signed either prior to our Trusted Photographer going to your location or on the day of the photo shoot before services begin.
